Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
Physiotherapist can be trained in many different fields. Pelvic floor physiotherapist are trained to assess your pelvic floor function and tailor an exercise program to meet your individual needs. They work with both men and women. You will be taught how to strengthen and relax your pelvic floor muscles through some very simple but effective exercises for home and also provide you with information for life style changes to help you reduce your symptoms.

What you need to know for your First session of pelvic floor Physiotherapy.
Dress comfortably. Physio will be doing the external assessment (over the clothing) to assess your muscle tone and feel for any tension in the perineal area. According to the assessment you will be provided exercise programme and any hands on treatment that may be required.
Osteopathy
Traditional Osteopathy, as defined by Canadian College of Osteopathy is “A natural medicine which aims to restore function in the body by treating the causes of pain and imbalance. To achieve this goal the osteopathic manual practitioner relies on the quality and finesse of his/her palpating and works with the position, mobility and quality of the tissues.”
It is an alternative medicine, that embraces the idea of the unity of structure and function through four main principles.
- The body works as a unit, and the person represents a combination of body, mind and spirit.
- The body is capable of self-regulation and self-healing.
- Structure and function are reciprocally interrelated.
- The role of the artery is absolute.
Vestibular Therapy
Vestibular rehabilitations is an exercise-based program, designed by a specialized physical therapist to improve symptoms related to balance and inner ear disorders. People with vestibular disorders can experience problems with vertigo, dizziness, visual disturbance and/or imbalance. Other issues like nausea, vomiting, reduced ability to focus or concentrate can be secondary to vestibular disorders.
Once your physiotherapist has identified the problem they will prescribe a home exercise program which may consist of 1) Habituation 2) Gaze Stabilization and 3)Balance Training.
For Patients that may Present with Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) different repositioning exercises can be performed for diagnosis and treatment.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and myoskeletal tissues with subacute, subchronic and chronic conditions.
Shockwave are defined by the shape of the pulse and energy/pressure. This energy is created by transferring compressed air under large pressure from the main devices into the applicator. The energy values of Shockwave therapy are low enough to deliver gentle therapy but high enough to promote physiological changes to the tissue and trigger tissue healing.
